ABSTRACT
The actual thematics in the Italian architectural debate concern on the environment, on the restoration and on the conservation of the
existing architectonical and cultural heritage. This equilibrium is interrupted by the era of dynamism; the urban landscape, traditionally
planned with a privileged point of view, is shattered, the urban limit moves itself and you lose the sense of the border. The identity of
the cities is submitted to partial figures, to symbolic fragments and the new image doesn't coincide neither with the composite urban reality
neither with the memorized images of the past. Unfortunately the visual memory approaches to a different idea of urban landscape, in
which the unsymmetrical and the accumulation, the multiplicity and the unusual one, the hybrid and the traditionally "different" become
aesthetical quality spreading a new architectural dictionary. A correct and balanced relationship between architectural composition and
"language" becomes fundamental: 1- The urban responsibility of the project becomes a tool of reading as occasion of reinstatement,
exploitation, attribution of new contest, and first of all to give again a "meaning" of the historical structure. The city is meant as stratified
explaining text through the Iconology and Semiotics. The relationship among new and historical structure of the place: morphology. 2-
New and ancient: Language. This theme wants to study and to put into connection this aspects: environmental architecture, vernacular,
mimetic, of continuity, of contrast, presence of the existing one, linguistic and psycoperceptive peculiarity of the context. The form of the
expression such as architectural portions, proportional systems, geometry of the contour, of the relationship between void and built. The
substance of the expression: tectonic, constructive subject, texture, light-shade and chromatic choices. This implicates a plan- knowing
that as it testifies the ample debate that, particularly in our Country, is developed in the last century , it sets questions of disciplinary
nature, ethics and poetic, that don't seem to be able to find unanimous answer to the moment. The form of architectural composition should
try to delineate an own line of reference, to practice the sensibility' planners as well as to turn on a critical debate on concrete
cases. There is the difficulty to individualize the concrete possibility to think about the plan as to a series of limited actions in the time
and in the place, rather than to pretend to individualize a general system of reference from which, for following approximations to come to
define rules and objectives of the single actions. The specific characters of the environment are the elements that constitute it, the
architectures that transform it and the interlacement among works of the man and natural elements. It is evident that the conservation ,
without a program for a more and more adjourned restoration, means the exclusion of the Cultural Heritage from the territorial and social
context. The planning should be faced as moment of interaction among the sciences of the restoration, the architectural planning and the
whole the saperis and the techniques direct to assure levels of comfort, sustainability, accessibility and safety, adjourned in comparison to
the standards of our time.
