Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Summary:

The theme of the conference will allow discussion of very broad questions for example European Influence in Russian monuments of garden art, Methods of Historical landscape restoration: international and Russian experience, Life of historical landscapes in the era of market economy and globalisation: positive and negative experiences, Search of historical landscape integration into modern landscapes and Historical landscapes as an inspiration for modern landscape architecture.

One of the very important tasks of this conference is the consolidation of Russian landscape architects with an aim to developing a strong united profession of landscape architecture (scientific, practical and educational). Foreign and Russian specialists are invited to share their experiences.

The due date for abstracts is 31 January 2009. Conference peer-reviewed proceedings based on presented abstracts and papers will be published in Russian and English.
