| Summary: |

The Remontée du sel was created in 1997 by Jacques Gilabert
and takes place along the Loire, providing on the banks, quays and
docks entertainment and events in which salt plays a prominent symbolic
role.
This event is an opportunity for participants, for those who live
along the shores and for visitors from elsewhere to rediscover and
relate to a major part of the history, both large and small-scale,
of the Loire Valley: trading along the Loire, the Loire fleet and
the goods that it carried, salt in particular, the heritage environment,
important characters, daily life, culture and art.
