Under the aegis of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic
of Vietnam, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vietnam Academy
of Social Sciences are co-organizing The Third International Conference
on Vietnamese Studies: Vietnam: Integration and Development.
The Conference will be held at My Ðình National Convention
Centre, Hanoi, Vietnam between 4 and 7 December, 2008.
The Conference is divided into eighteen panels:
- Traditional Vietnamese history
- Contemporary Vietnamese history
- Vietnamese culture
- Acculturation
- Vietnamese economy
- Vietnamese society
- Vietnamese laws
- Traditional Vietnamese countryside and agriculture
- Contemporary Vietnamese countryside and agriculture
- Urban and Urbanization
- Linguistics and Vietnamese language
- Vietnamese literature and art
- Source materials for Vietnamese Studies and methods for information
exploitation and analysis
- Education and training of human resources
- Theory and training methods in Vietnamese Studies
- Synthesis area studies: Thang Long–Hanoi, South,, and
the other parts of Vietnam
- International relations between Vietnam and the other regional
countries
- Natural resources, environment, and sustainable development
The organizers look forward to attracting the attention of and
participation in this large-scale conference from scholars of Vietnamese
Studies. The fruits of the conference will not only contribute greatly
to the building up of our knowledge on Vietnam but will also promote
the integration process of Vietnam into the present-day international
community. It will have the added advantage of contributing to the
upgrading of the study of and training in Vietnamese Studies.
With the above-mentioned aims in mind, the Organizing Committee
would like to invite scholars, scientists, universities, research
institutes and centres, and institutions with an interest in Vietnamese
Studies officially to contribute papers and to participate in the
conference.
The official languages to be used in the conference are Vietnamese
and English.
Please submit your Registration Form and abstract before 15
June 2008. The full paper should be submitted before 15
August 2008.
The official invitation letter will be sent to participants in September
2008.
The Organizing Committee will send updated information to participants
after they have paid the fee of $100 per person.
Participation fee may be exempted for undergraduate and graduate
students and poor participants should they provide the Organizing
Committee with suitable letter of recommendation.
