Summary: The 12, 13 and 14 November 2008 will take place in Lyon the first European forum “Jobs for nature” or “La nature pour metier” for managers of natural areas dedicated to their line of work and competencies .

It has been organised within the framework of events linked to the French presidency of the European Union. Participants are invited to share their views about the day-to-day reality of doing their jobs and the changing nature of their skills base: administrators, employers and employees alike can seize this opportunity to create professional alliances and to initiate or expand their current networking activities.

The desire of the Jobs for nature – la nature pour métier forum was to consider the issues at the heart of approaches to jobs and professionalisation for managers of natural areas :

  • the recognition and defence of our professions,
  • optimising the effectiveness of our professions,
  • anticipating and supporting the development of our professions.
