Picturing America Exhibit
Picturing America? is an initiative of the National Endowment for
the Humanities, in cooperation with the American Library Association.
The project’s aim is to enhance the teaching, study, and understanding
of U.S. history and culture by bringing some of the nation’s
greatest works of art into its classrooms and libraries. The series
is comprised of images that capture important moments in American
life and present them through painting, sculpture, photography,
architecture and decorative arts. |
