Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Throughout history, the world’s greatest port cities have been shaped by the capricious tides of change.

On the Waterfront investigates how a port’s history shapes the future of today’s 21st Century waterfront.

Set in Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008 this major international three-day conference brings together experts in culture, heritage and regeneration from around the world including China, France, India, Nigeria
and USA.

Speakers and workshops offer unique insights into the issues affecting port cities, the global city on the edge…identifying, debating, discussing and celebrating their:
