MUSEUM
International N°235. The Stakes of the Collection in the 21st
Century - available in french
This issue is about the political, moral, artistic and philosophical
challenges of the collection in the 21st century. The collection is
still aimed at gathering, protecting and displaying, with the purpose
of showing and explaining. But the reflection on museums has undergone
deep transformations that require to study again how the issue of
universality has been considered nowadays. UNESCO.

Just
Published MUSEUM International N°236 - Gender Perspectives on
Cultural heritage and Museums
Contrary to established beliefs, the decision to devote an issue of
MUSEUM International to women and gender issues was a difficult one
to take. A preferred discipline in Social Sciences, gender studies,
through their transfer into the heritage field, should not entail
a simplistic reification nor oscillate between some studies on women
as heritage actors and others on women as heritage contributors. |
