Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Heritage and Communication: operation heritage, 6 February 2007. Languedoc-Roussillon.
(in french) A l’occasion de la réouverture du musée Fabre, l’Association des Journalistes du Patrimoine a organisé un débat à Montpellier pour se faire connaître des acteurs du patrimoine et de la presse régionale du Languedoc-Roussillon. La rencontre a eu lieu mardi 6 février, une opération au bilan mitigé.

Vital Arctic Graphics is a compilation of illustrations and case studies intended to describe the Arctic, the livelihoods of Arctic indigenous peoples and the future well-being of this region. It summarizes some of the key threats to the future sustainability of the Arctic including the rapid pace of climate change, worrying levels of persistent organic and heavy metal pollutants, and increasing natural resource exploration.

(in french) Paradoxalement, à l’heure où la culture est enfin inscrite dans les déclarations des droits de l’homme, reconnue comme valeur visant à l'universalisation du genre humain et à la paix des Nations, elle perd de son identité, victime d’une confusion des genres qui permet aux loisirs, aux sports comme aux modes d’expression les plus divers de se dire culture. À cette élasticité du terme qui amène à confondre souvent création et récréation, s'ajoute l'industrialisation de la culture qui transforme "l'œuvre" d'hier en "produit" culturel. Que reste-t-il de l'idée de culture quand elle n'est plus qu'un enjeu économique, perdant ce qui fait son essence, le goût de l'effort au profit d'une bonification de la nature ? Si la culture est un droit, il est urgent d'en redéfinir le contenu avant qu'on ne nous le retire.
