Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Opening of the Monterrey Forum
The Director-General of UNESCO, Koïchiro Matsuura, and the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, took part in the opening of the Universal Forum of Cultures Monterrey 2007 on the 20th of September. Scheduled to last till 8 December, the Forum pursues work started by the Barcelona Forum in Spain in 2004. It focuses on the three core concepts already present in Barcelona: sustainable development, cultural diversity and peace. But knowledge has been added as a fourth theme to the Monterrey Forum. http://www.monterreyforum2007.org/

Visit of the Director-General to Japan (27 August to 4 September 2007)
The Director-General of UNESCO, Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, undertook an official visit to Japan on the occasion of the fifth annual conference on issues of globalization, jointly organized by UNESCO and the United Nations University (UNU) and the Second session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The Director-General meets with His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdelaziz Al-Saoud
On 6 September Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO, met at Paris Headquarters with His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdelaziz Al-Saoud, Head of the Supreme Commission for Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
