Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Research seminar on higher education challenges in Africa

UNESCO Director-General condemns deadly attack on Baghdad college and urges increased protection for Iraq's education system
The Director-General of UNESCO Koïchiro Matsuura today expressed his shock and anger over the attack on a college in Baghdad Sunday, in which 42 people were killed and another 55 injured, most of them students. Mr Matsuura condemned the attack as "barbarous" and called on the Iraqi authorities to do their utmost to secure the education system from such violence.
