• The Director-General receives the Governor-General of Australia at UNESCO Headquarters
  On 12 November 2008, Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO, met with Ms Quentin Bryce, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia during her visit to the Organization’s Headquarters. Ms Sally Mansfield, Permanent Delegate of Australia to UNESCO was also present together with a delegation of high officials.

• UNESCO Director-General pays first official visit to Singapore
  On 4 December 2008, the Director-General of UNESCO, Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, paid his first official visit to Singapore, following the country’s return to the Organization in October 2007 (see Flash Info N° 131-2007).

  From 30 November to 3 December 2008, the Director-General of UNESCO, Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, paid an official visit to Japan.

  Le Directeur général de l’UNESCO, M. Koïchiro Matsuura a reçu au Siège de l’Organisation M. Tertius Zongo, Premier Ministre du Burkina Faso, le 21 novembre 2008, à l’occasion de sa visite en France. M. le Premier Ministre était accompagné d’une importante délégation composée notamment de M. Alain Yoda, Ministre d’Etat, Ministre des Affaires étrangères et de la coopération régionale et de M. Filippe Savadogo, Ministre de la culture, du tourisme et de la communication, Porte-parole du gouvernement.
