Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is a UNESCO project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal network of higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) Spain. This internet website is not an official UNESCO site but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Theme: "Towards a New Convergence"

Canada, 5 - 10 October 1997

The action of Forum UNESCO - University and Heritage must be the messenger of a new dynamic between youth in favor of heritage.

Following the firts seminar organised in Valencia, Spain under the patronage of the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia in September 1996, which gathered nearly 80 universities representing 41 countries, it was decided to pursue this mission on a regular basis, alternating the meeting place amog the five continents until 2001.

In this contex, the second seminar of this series of international seminars will be held in Québec under the theme "Towards a New Convergence". During five days, the participants will reflect on four aspects connected to the central theme: networking, reseach and development, higher eduction and international cooperation.
